WESTERN EUROPE
Western Europe consists of: Belgium, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands and the United Kingdom, all shown in ocher (yellowish-brown) on the map. Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg are often called the Benelux countries after the first part of their names. The United Kingdom and Ireland are located on the British and Irish Isles located off the main landmass of Europe. All of these countries are major players in Europe, even Luxembourg in spite of its small area.
